How We Help

Free Medical Services

CURA BRASIL is committed to providing free, high-quality medical care to those who otherwise would not have access. Our volunteer doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals offer services across a wide range of specialties, including ophthalmology, gynecology, dentistry, orthopedics, physical therapy, family medicine, and pediatrics. By meeting essential healthcare needs, we help improve the overall quality of life for individuals and families while fostering dignity and hope. Each visit is not only about treatment, but also about compassion—ensuring patients feel valued, cared for, and respected.

Heart Team

The Heart Team offers emotional and spiritual support to the people we serve during our outreach campaigns.
Its purpose is to listen, counsel, pray, and bring strength to those going through difficult moments, seeking to meet their deeper emotional needs.
It is made up of brave volunteers with humble hearts, who serve with empathy, prayer, and encouragement sharing in the pain and hope of the community they meet in every encounter.

CURA Community

The street team, known as CURA Community, provides direct assistance to families, offering support with housing, small repairs, and home improvements for people in the communities we serve.
Our goal is to meet basic needs and provide practical help through social assistance, food baskets, or referrals to public services making it easier for patients to access the help they need.

We also carry out minor home repairs and cleaning, especially in situations where residents are sick and unable to take care of their homes.
This street team always works alongside a social worker or a family doctor, who performs home visits to understand why the person hasn’t been able to reach a health center or hospital for treatment.

At its heart, CURA Community means us going to people’s doors to listen, to understand, and to act with compassion and care within their community.

Student Volunteers

At CURA, we believe that education and example have the power to transform and to inspire others to follow.
From the very beginning, we have opened our doors to students from the health field who wish to volunteer and experience firsthand the reality of serving people in vulnerable situations.

Through this experience, students have the opportunity to learn from qualified doctors and specialists, take part in real community care, and discover the true value of serving with love.
Our purpose is to plant in the hearts of these future professionals the understanding that caring for others goes beyond medical practice: it’s about respect, empathy, and humanity.

Over the years, we’ve welcomed students from different universities and have built a meaningful partnership with UNIFAE University, in São João da Boa Vista, São Paulo.
We’ve witnessed how deeply transformative this experience can be both professionally and personally teaching the true meaning of serving and loving others with purpose and compassion.

Many students also take the opportunity to practice their English and, in some cases, intern with our volunteer doctors from the United States, as some of our medical students have already done.
These experiences broaden perspectives and strengthen our mission to help shape professionals who lead with empathy, sensitivity, and a genuine heart for service.
