I apologize for the long time since I last posted, but I have exciting news!
As you may recall, during this year’s campaign we met a little girl named Milena – an adorable 3-year-old who had suffered from septic meningitis. This resulted in severe hip damage, and ultimately, an inability to walk. We were able to help transport her to a prosthetics factory to be cast for a brace that would allow her to walk without assistance for the first time, giving her a chance to be an active child – something she has never experienced.
This week she received her new brace and will soon be able to get out and about and play! THIS is a perfect example of what we do what we do and we are so excited for Milena.
We are excited to celebrate with her in person next summer!
This time of year, after a little bit of down-time following each campaign, we begin to look towards the next year to plan what we can do and who will volunteer to join us.
If you are a medical professional, please consider joining us. Outside of major surgery, we have room for virtually all medical practitioners who wish to be a part of our family. As always, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, and Optometry are a huge area of need. But we also need Gyn, nursing, Physical Therapy, Dermatology, Pediatrics, General Medicine (both FP and IM), Cardiology, ultrasound techs, and Chiropractic care.
