2017 The final report.

657

1500  //  SPECIALTY VISITS
17  // HOMES REPAIRED
100+  // LOCAL VOLUNTEERS

The accounts are balanced, the inventory has been stored, and the final goodbyes were long and hard. I left Brazil with a heavy heart as I said goodbye to good friends. It is always a bit hectic during the CURA campaign, but at the same time life in Brazil has a sense of ease that I don’t find in the states. Without insurance reviews and electronic medical records to manage, all that remains is care, respect, and love for each other. It feels simpler and less chaotic. At the same time, I am more than ready to return to my family and my home.

2017 was a complete success. We saw a total of 657 patients, with over 1500 individual specialty visits.  We repaired 17 individual families’ homes via CURA Comunidade. None of this would have been possible without our 100+ volunteers, the combined medical personnel from the States and Brazil, the multitude of prayers and financial help from supporters around the world. From the bottom of our hearts: thank you.
