“…Love is not an emotion; it is a state of being. True love has no object. Many speak of their unconditional love for another. But in truth one does not have unconditional for another. Unconditional love is the experience of being; there is no “I” and “other”, and anyone or anything it touches is experienced in love…Love is not a dualistic emotion. It is a sense of oneness with all that is. The experience of love arises when we surrender our separateness into the universal. It is a feeling of unity. You don’t love another; you are another.”
-Stephen Levine

You may or may not be familiar with Stephen Levine, and I certainly do not agree with all of his teachings, but the above quote is what this mission of CURA is all about.

We are here to love.

And, to completely love these people, we must be part of them. This weekend I have witnessed just how far we have come in this effort. Saturday we had an exciting community event that we deemed “flash CURA.” The entire community of Vila Progresso was invited, and we celebrated with 4-5 hours of music, dance, origami, theater, AcroYoga, CrossFit, and COMMUNITY! It was absolutely unbelievable! A celebration of the love of God reaching across income barriers, faith barriers, and language barriers.

Today the CURA team gathered together to put the finishing touches on the school in preparation for the arrival of the first patients at 8AM tomorrow morning. JB, Bruno and Dra. Greicy have done an amazing job of coordinating this year. We have the highest participation from Brazilian practitioners to date, our IT system has further improved through the efforts of Vini (our local volunteer tech engineer), and the weather is beautiful.

Please keep us in your thoughts!

Deus te abençoe,
Greg
